Munster SFC final - Clare v Kerry
When Clare football manager Mark Fitzgerald took the brave decision to toss for home advantage, and won it, among Clare football people there was a massive lift. It changed the narrative.
It has given a great lift to football people in the county and hopefully it will give a great lift to the players.
There has been a huge amount of change since I left and Mark has brilliantly managed a team in transition.
They were robbed of promotion from Division 3 after a scandalous referee decision in Westmeath.
He has them in a really good place, but let's not gloss it over, Kerry are an excellent side, yet Clare have excellent players themselves.
In Clare we have been talking about 1992 for far too long now. Only a win would be a good result for Clare and a win is what the team are after.
Connacht SFC final - Galway v Mayo
It is a clash of two teams that have been a little underwhelming this year. Galway have had their problems regarding getting their main players back.
Mayo have played fantastic in patches, but have reverted to ordinary in a lot of their outings.
It’s not knockout, but a Galway-Mayo Connacht final always has a bit of an edge to it.
The potential in Galway is huge. If all their players are there and perform to their level they are capable of, it should be a cracker of a match, but Mayo have shown better form and might just edge it.
