Leona Maguire drops back amid testing conditions at the Cognizant Founders Cup

admin admin | 05-11 16:15

After an opening 66 which left her third overall, a 76 from Leona Maguire in round two of the Cognizant Founders Cup on a day of wind and rain now leaves the County Cavan golfer 11 shots adrift of the leaders.

Maguire's only birdie came on eight, but five bogeys saw her fall down the leaderboard in New Jersey. That leaves her tied 29th on two under par.

Overnight leader Zhang is now joined at the head of affairs on 13 under by Madelelene Sagstrom. The American, after dropping a shot at her fifth hole, picked up four coming home in a round of 68. Sagstrom, despite posting a bogey and a double bogey in her round, made seven birdies and an eagle on her way to a 66.

Nelly Korda also signed for a 66 and she occupies third spot on nine under.
