Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has confirmed that his expected move to Liverpool to replace Jurgen Klopp has been rubber-stamped and will be in charge of the Reds next season.
The 45-year-old Dutch coach emerged as a leading candidate to take over from Klopp last month and confirmed the switch in his final press conference in charge of the Dutch club.
"I can confirm that I will be a coach at Liverpool next season," Slot said ahead of the team's match with Excelsior.
Feyenoord did not want to lose their manager and are understood to have demanded significant compensation for the man who guided them to a first Eredivisie title in six years last season.
It has been reported that Liverpool had to pay "considerably more than €10m" to get Slot out of his Feyenoord contract.
After making it clear he wanted to succeed Klopp in the Liverpool hotseat, the clubs agreed a verbal agreement before Slot today confirmed the deal was done.
Slot has turned down previous offers to work in the Premier League, the Dutchman opting not to take on the Leeds job after they sacked Jesse Marsch in February last year.
It has also been reported Slot ruled himself out of the running for the vacancy at Tottenham before Ange Postecoglou was appointed last summer.
