The former Republic of Ireland manager has had a bracing return to life in the League of Ireland, with successive home defeats to Derry City and Shelbourne - still the top two in the Premier Division - in the past four days.
The reigning FAI Cup holders are currently seventh in the table following a stodgy opening third of the campaign, the club struggling to adapt after losing a host of players in the off-season.
For Corry, the foundations are strong at Pat's - who have won two Cups in the past three years and last won the league in 2013 - but in the short term, the squad is a bit lacking in 2024.
"Any time I've seen them play, (Ruairí) Keating or whoever might be at the top end of the pitch is very, very isolated when the ball goes up.
"When you look at the way Stephen has played previously, width and pace in wide areas is something that he looks for.
"Somebody like Jake Mulraney is probably a player who will thrive under Stephen's guidance. You'd imagine he'd be a forefront of Stephen's team and how he would look to play.
"You throw in the likes of Jamie Lennon, a (Chris) Forrester, a (Kian) Leavy, these are the type of players he'll be expecting to step up.
"I always go back to the FAI Cup final last year, if you look at the number of players that have left the Pat's squad since then, I never felt they replaced those players. And maybe it's going to take a little bit of time for Stephen to replace those players.
"It's blatantly obvious he's going to need to drip-feed more quality into the side over the next couple of windows. And I think the lure of Stephen being at St Pat's will be attractive to a number of players who are going to be out of contract.
"I think he'll enjoy being back on the training pitch on a daily basis and not having these short windows like he had with the international side.
"The foundations are certainly there but when you compare them to the top teams in the league, they need a couple of bodies in there if they're to progress and become one of the challengers."
Former Dundalk striker David McMillan, who won four league titles in a row under Kenny and starred in their famous Champions League run in 2016, said Kenny may have had to ponder his future ambitions in the game in the wake of his stint as Ireland manager.
But he argues his talents are well suited to the task required in Inchicore.
"It is interesting to see him back so quickly. It's a different stage now (for him). When you think back to his time at Dundalk, it was very much about progression for him, for the team, getting through those rounds in Europe. He might have even had the vision of managing Ireland.
"So, you're almost taking a slight step back. You have to think, 'what's his ambition now?' And he's got to still be able to manage and drive players to go and win leagues. That can be a challenge.
"It'll be interesting to see how he manages it, particularly when we have lots of thriving, young managers in the game, who are ready to challenge him.
"Pat's are a club that have money behind him. He will be able to spend and make signings that will improve St Pat's. (Garrett) Kelleher, by giving him a five-year deal, knows what he wants to get out of it and that's challenging for league titles.
"He had a real winning mentality. I read there that we lost one or two league games in 2015 and somebody said he's already lost two in the past week.
"It will be a transition for him. I think he has the ability to build a squad, to pick out the right players. That's not something you can do at international level, you've got limited supply obviously.
"He has a real eye for a player and then it's about his man management."
