Bray Wanderers are seeking a new head coach as Ian Ryan this afternoon resigned "with immediate effect".

The club confirmed the news in a curt statement on their website this afternoon.

"Bray Wanderers FC announce that Ian Ryan has decided to resign as Head Coach with immediate effect," the statement read.

"The club have accepted his resignation and wish Ian the best for the future. There will be no further comment from the club at this time."

Bray Wanderers, who merged with Cabinteely ahead of the 2022 season, currently lie in sixth position in the First Division.

Ryan took over as Bray manager in November 2022, having impressed during his stint at Wexford FC, lifting the club from the foot of the First Division to mid-table.

In his first season at the Carlisle Grounds, Bray finished sixth in the table, missing out on a play-off place.

He previously guided the UCD U19 side to a league title, with a team featuring future Celtic defender Liam Scales.
