Bryson DeChambeau has won the 124th US Open by a stroke from Ireland's Rory McIlroy after a dramatic final day at Pinehurst Golf Club.
DeChambeau rolled in a four-foot par putt on the final hole to collect his second US Open title having won the tournament four years ago at Winged Foot.
The American shot a closing 71 for a six-under-par total, one better than McIlroy, who carded a 69 on Sunday, and two clear of Patrick Cantlay (70) and Tony Finau (67).
McIlroy was left devastated after missed short putts on the 16th and 18th greens saw him fall a single shot short of winning his first major title in a decade.
