Rhasidat Adeleke set a season best's time of 22.35 at the Diamond League in London but it was only good enough for a fifth-placed finish in a stacked women's 200m field.
Despite being just 0.01 second outside her national record, Adeleke was never truly in contention past the 150m mark with American Gabrielle Thomas coming through in a super time of 21.82, just 0.04 seconds ahead of Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred.
Andrew Coscoran clocked a new personal best in the mile event - and became the third fastest Irish runner in it - after emerging from a messy race.

Coscoran reached the 1500m final June's European Championships finishing 13th in a race won by the majestic Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
The Balbriggan man was then slated to compete in the 800m at the National Senior Track and Field Championships at the end of June but withdrew due to illness.
In the 3000m event, there were personal bests for both Brian Fay and Nick Griggs.
Fay, who is heading to his first Olympics this year, was seventh overall with a time of 7:34.48, with European champion Dominic Lobalu winning in a time of 7:27.68.
Tyrone man Griggs, meanwhile, was 10th in a time of 7:36.59 - shaving over five seconds off his previous PB of 7:41.68.
