Johnny Murphy blew the full-time whistle not long after, pushing Cork's wait for a 31st All-Ireland into a 20th year, as Clare claimed victory in a pulsating All-Ireland final.
However, replays clearly showed that Clare corner-back Conor Leen had hold of the Cork substitute's jersey as he shot.
Should referee Murphy have blown for a free and given Patrick Horgan a gilt-edged chance to force a replay?

"I wouldn't hold that against Clare. Clare won the game. Robbie O'Flynn would still say he should have put the ball over the bar. I guarantee you. He still got his shot off," said Cusack.
"It would be wrong. It would be wrong to let that colour the whole game. It was a foul, the jersey was pulled, but he still got a chance to put the ball over the bar.
"As a Cork person, and I'm aware who I am representing here today, I wouldn't be going on about that."
