Sky Bet Championship round-up: Sinclair Armstrong and Jimmy Dunne on target

Sinclair Armstrong was both provider and scorer as Bristol City finally overcame Millwall in a seven-goal thriller at Ashton Gate.

The Republic of Ireland striker set up the opener after three minutes, breaking down the right flank, his cross finding Anis Mehmeti who volleyed home from eight yards.

Less than 10 minutes later, Armstrong was target himself, rising unmarked to net with a downward header from Max Bird's left-wing cross.

But Millwall would turn the game on its head in a blistering spell after half-time, Romain Esse pulling one back, Tom Bradshaw levelling from the penalty spot, before Duncan Watmore putting them in front with a sweet strike, all goals arriving between the 51st and 64th minute.

But back came City, substitute Fally Mayulu sending a low drive just inside the far post with 12 minutes remaining, before Scott Twine's late volley sealed victory for the hosts in the dying moments.

Jimmy Dunne's headed goal kickstarted QPR's revival as the visitors came from 2-0 down to snatch a draw against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time after early goals from Gustavo Hamer and Kieffer Moore, QPR pulled one back when Irish centre-half Dunne met Karamoko Dembele's corner with a glancing near-post header.

QPR's hopes suffered a dent when Jack Colback was sent off with seven minutes remaining but there was time for a sting in the tail, Scottish striker Lyndon Dykes side-footing the equaliser in the 88th minute.

Scott Parker saw his Burnley side record another statement victory after beating Cardiff 5-0 in his first home game in charge since replacing Vincent Kompany as manager.

The Clarets built on their impressive opening day 4-1 win at Luton with an assertive performance at Turf Moor, which started with Ethan Horvath's mishap giving Burnley an early lead.

Zeki Amdouni celebrates his Burnley goal

Horvath’s mistake was followed by a first-half strike from Luca Koleosho with Josh Brownhill, Zeki Amdouni and Johann Berg Gudmundsson netting after the break as Burnley aim to bounce back from last season’s relegation.

Summer signing Yuki Ohashi came off the bench to grab a dramatic late equaliser as Blackburn snatched a battling 2-2 draw at Norwich.

The Japanese striker headed home in the 87th minute to rescue a point after his side had squandered a half-time lead, with Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz scoring twice in eight second-half minutes to turn the game on its head.

Ryan Hedges had produced an assured finish to open the scoring on 20 minutes but Norwich were the better side for long periods and made it show after the break, only for Rovers to have the final say.

John Eustace's side have four points from the opening two games while Norwich, under new boss Johannes Hoff Thorup, have just one.

Head coach Wayne Rooney claimed his first Championship point as Plymouth boss as the Devon side drew 1-1 with Hull at Home Park.

Visiting skipper Lewis Coyle scored a superb 63rd-minute leveller after Ibrahim Cissoko fired Argyle ahead in the 52nd minute in front of 16,306 at Home Park.

Managerless Preston slumped to their seventh successive league defeat as they were beaten 3-0 at the Swansea.com Stadium.

It took until the 40th minute for Swansea to open their account, through a penalty smashed home by Matt Grimes, before which Robbie Brady frittered away a glorious chance for the visitors, the Dubliner driving into the box but seeing his tame shot saved one-on-one by Lawrence Vigoroux.

Goals after the break from Azeem Abdulai and substitute Zan Vipotnik rounded off an easy win for the Welsh club.

Leeds' winless start to the new season continued but they managed to keep a first clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Clear-cut chances were thin on the ground as last season’s joint Golden Glove award winners in the Championship, Alex Palmer and Illan Meslier, stood firm behind solid defences.

Watford continued their winning start to the season with a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Stoke.

Both sides had enjoyed opening-day wins plus Carabao Cup successes against lower-league opposition in midweek.

However, two goals in two minutes early in the second half from Edo Kayembe and Ryan Andrews set up a straightforward victory for Tom Cleverley's hosts, with Kayembe adding another later on.

Derby goalkeeper Josh Vickers produced a superb performance as his team dug deep to beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at Pride Park.

Vickers made a string of outstanding saves after Kayden Jackson had punished a Boro mistake to give Derby a first-half lead.

Luton clung on for a 0-0 draw at Portsmouth despite being forced to play for an hour with 10 men after goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski was sent off following a moment of madness.

Kaminski made a rash excursion from his goal on the half hour and collided in turn with Callum Lang and Connor Ogilvie to earn a deserved red card having already been booked for time wasting.

But in their first Championship home game in 12 years, Pompey failed to cash in on their advantage and Luton were ultimately comfortable in holding out for a morale-boosting point following their opening-day drubbing by Burnley.
