Rhys McClenaghan has advanced to the pommel horse final at the European Championships in Rimini, Italy, where he will defend his title on Friday, while team-mate Dominick Cunningham is through to the vault final.
Double world champion McClenaghan, in what is expected to be his final competitive outing before the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, scored 15.133 to qualify in second place behind Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev.
It was a relatively clean routine for the Ards gymnast, who on Friday will bid for a third continental title.
Seeking to retain the title he won in Antalya 12 months ago, the 24-year-old bounced back from failing to make the final in the World Cup in Baku in March by taking third place in Doha last week.
Cunningham qualified in eighth in the vault with a combined score of 14.150, with his final set for Saturday.
The team placed 17th, scoring 233.894, led by Adam Steele's impressive all-around contribution scoring 80.332.
Eamon Montgomery scored 14.000 on the floor exercise, while Daniel Fox led the team on still rings with a score of 13.166 while also scoring 75.484 in the all-around.
