Adam Idah has been selected to lead the line for Ireland as they take on England at the Aviva Stadium, while both Declan Rice and Jack Grealish start for the visitors.

The Celtic striker has been selected up front alongside Chiedozie Ogbene and Sammie Szmodics, who should take up roles on either flank.

Heimir Hallgrimsson takes charge of the national team for the first time and the Icelandic head coach appears to have opted for a 3-4-3 formation for the UEFA Nations League opener.

Seamus Coleman will captain the side from what appears to be a three-man defensive unit, playing alongside Nathan Collins and Dara O'Shea.

Matt Doherty will slot in on the right side with Robbie Brady out left of the four-man midfield unit with Jayson Molumby and Will Smallbone tasked with controlling the centre of midfield.

As expected, Caoimhin Kelleher starts in goal, despite lacking game time at Liverpool this season.

Rice and Grealish have both worn the green jersey of Ireland and have been named in the England XI, while striker Harry Kane captains Lee Carsley's side.

Grealish will start in an attack-minded England selection with Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka adding to the firepower within the side.

Rice will slot in at centre midfield playing alongside Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.

Jordan Pickford remains England’s number one, while the defensive four sees Harry Maguire link with Marc Guehi in the middle with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Levi Colwill on the right and left side respectively.
