AFLW: Injury blow for Hawthorn's Áine McDonagh after starring role

Mayo's Grace Kelly scored a behind and had 16 disposals as St Kilda maintained their 100% start to the new AFLW season with a 42-26 win over Sydney Swans today.

Donegal's Tanya Kennedy and Julie O'Sullivan of Kerry had 18 and nine disposals respectively for Syndey, who lost skipper Chloe Molloy to a season-ending knee injury before the game.

Niamh Kelly (Mayo) had 14 disposals for the Adelaide Crows in their 39-6 win over Freemantle Dockers.

Tipperary's Aisling McCarthy and Áine Tighe (six marks) of Leitrim scored behinds for the goal-less hosts, who also had Armagh's Amy Mulholland, Meath's Orlagh Lally and Roscommon woman Joanne Cregg on the field.

Gold Coast Suns lost their second game in a row, going down by a single point to Carlton in a 38-39 cracker after a late goal from Maddy Guerin.

Donegal's Niamh McLaughlin had 15 disposals for Gold Coast while Dayna Finn (Mayo) had 17 disposals, seven marks and three marks for the winners.

Richmond bounced back from their first-round loss to West Coast to beat Greater Western Sydney Giants 38-27. Leitrim's Eilish O'Dowd had 20 disposals for GWS.

North Melbourne and Geelong Cats recorded the first draw of the season after Mikayla Bowen's goal for Geelong made it 36 points apiece.

Tipperary pair Anna-Rose Kennedy and Aishling Moloney (15 disposals) lined out for Geelong alongside Offaly's Kate Kenny.

Another Premier native Niamh Martin played for North Melbourne alongside former LGFA Player of the Year Vikki Wall of Meath.

Aileen Gilroy was also on the mark for the Hawks

Collingwood have also lost two from two, which leaves them with a lot of ground to make up in what is just an 11-game programme for the 18 teams.

Dublin's Sinéad Goldrick (20 disposals, five marks) and Armagh's Blaithin Mackin (19, 5) were among the best performers for the hosts.

Essdendon won 41-25 at West Coast, two of the few teams not to feature an Irish player.

On Friday, Western Bulldogs alos lost two from two, going down 6-46 to Port Adelaide, who lost captain Janelle Cuthbertson to an ACL injury.
