Dublin/Derry punk trio Dumb Posh Hippies have released their new single, Scrunched Up Fist. We asked vocalist and guitarist Ciarán Fitz the BIG questions . . .
Speaking about the song, Ciarán Fitz says, "This is definitely one of the most outright punkers we have, probably. Scrunched Up Fist was literally written in the jam room in 10 minutes.

The band have played Dublin venues Sin É, Fibbers, The Thomas House and Lost Lane and recently released their collaborative album Hit The Remix Button Vol.1, a collection that comprises remixed versions of songs from their 2023 King of Kimmage EP, all produced by Irish artists.

Who are your musical inspirations?
M*A*S*H theme song and The Ramones.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Do pantos count as gigs? Aladdin if so. I think my first proper one was Foo Fighters when I was 12.
What was the first record you ever bought?
PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rumble. It was a tape. (Not a joke)
What’s your favourite song right now?
Being Dead - Daydream.
Favourite lyric of all time?

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fionn Regan - The Underwood Typewriter. That first album is flawless. Probably the song I’ve listened to the most in my life.
