Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I started off busking in the mid-80s with the likes of Mic Christopher, Glen Hansard and future members of Kila. I toured for three years with JJ72 as their tour manager/guitar tech. I record and mix all my music in my home studio.
How would you describe your music?
I don't know about anyone else but I find this to be a really hard question. Rock? indie? grandad music?
Who are your musical inspirations?
The big two for me have always been The Beatles and Neil Young, but I have quite broad taste in music.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Quite a big one The Rolling Stones at Slane in 1982.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Message In a Bottle by The Police.
What's your favourite song right now?
I'm listening to the new Beak album a lot so I suppose the first one on that, Strawberry Line, but I'd probably give you a different answer tomorrow.
Favourite lyric of all time?
That's really hard, At a push I'd have to say, "They say that patriotism is the last refuge, To which a scoundrel clings, Steal a little and they throw you in jail, Steal a lot and they make you king" - Sweetheart Like You by Bob Dylan.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably something off one of Neil Young's live albums, Love and Only Love from Earth. Goes on for about half an hour so that one.
Where can people find your music/more information?
I'm on Spotify and all the other streamers. I have a YouTube Channel - Acko 1111.
