Saoirse Ronan, Nicola Coughlan and Andrew Scott were among just some of the famous faces lighting up Los Angeles last night, as the 76th Primetime Emmys took place.

Honouring excellence in American television, an Emmy is considered one of the four major American awards for performing arts and entertainment alongside the Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards.

The annual ceremony took place in the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles and was a star-studded affair with high profile guests including Colin Farrell, Lily Gladstone, Viola Davis and more. Father-and-son-duo Eugene and Dan Levy of Schitt's Creek took on hosting duties.

Irish talent was on full display on the night, as a number of our biggest stars took to the red carpet.

Scott channelled his debonair starring role in the Netflix show The Talented Mr. Ripley, stepping out in a striking custom chocolate brown suit by Vivienne Westwood, which featured wide contrasting black lapels, a longline double-breasted jacket and wide legged trousers.

Styled by Warren Alfie Baker, he paired this with a black ruffled shirt and debuted a new accessory: a thin moustache.

Saoirse Ronan also made a dazzling appearance on the red carpet, wearing a custom design by Louis Vuitton. The understated gown featured a bandeau top, connected by flowing chiffon to a column skirt, all in a rich shade of deep purple.

The Outrun star attended the event with her partner Jack Lowden, who she met on the set of Mary Queen of Scots, and who was also wearing Louis Vuitton on the night.

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan continued her streak of flawless red carpet appearances, stepping out in an avant garde silver gown that featured a wide, off-the-shoulder neckline, a cinched waist, peplum detailing and a column skirt. She also added her Artists for Ceasefire pin.

And of course we can't forget the honorary Princess of Ireland, Ayo Edebiri of The Bear, who dazzled in a black and orange custom column gown by Bottega Veneta, which she paired with classic strappy black heels.
