Bagaglini's Halloween monster finger food: Today


Ingredients

  • puff pastry (as much as you need)
  • frankfurters (as much as you need)
  • tomato passata (as much as you need)
  • black olives (as much as you need)
  • eggs (as much as you need)
  • oregano (as much as you need)
  • salt and pepper
  • gel food colouring for decorations

Method

You are going to create different types of finger food!

Spider Pizzette:
Cut the puff pastry with a round pasta cutter, then place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Spread a teaspoon of seasoned tomato passata in the centre of each pizzetta, egg wash the board of the pizzette.
Take the olives and cut them in two, place one half in the centre of the pizzetta to create the body of a spider, slice the other half in six to create the legs. Put in the oven.

Spider Sausages:
Take the puff pastry and cut it in stripes, get the sausages and wrap them at the centre with the stripes of puff pastry.
Cut the sausages to create the spider legs.
Eggwash and put in the oven.
When ready make the eyes with the food colouring.

Halloween Coffins:
Cut the puff pastry to create the shape of a coffin, 2 side needed for each coffin.
Put the seasoned tomato passata on one side, put the other side on top to cover. Press on the edge to seal it, eggwash and put in the oven.
When ready make a cross on top with food colouring.

Zombie Hand:
Put your hand on the puff pastry and cut the shape out.
Put the seasoned tomato passata on the palm of the shaped hand.
Spread a bit of passata on the fingers as well. Eggwash the edge and put in the oven.

Sausage's Mummies:
Cut the puff pastry in stripes,get the sausages and cut one side to create the legs and the other side for the arms.
Wrap the sausages with stripes of puff pastry to create a mummie look a like. Eggwash and put in the oven.
When ready make the eyes with food colouring.

Baking instructions are the same for all the shapes:

  • In the oven for 20/25 minutes at 200 C static oven.
