Police are seeking the occupants of a light coloured vehicle as part of an ongoing homicide inquiry in Flaxmere, Hastings.

Last month, police found Napier man Patrick Teteni Reweti dead inside of a car.

At around 8.20pm on March 26, emergency services had received a report of a vehicle fire at an orchard on Irongate Road West in Flaxmere.

"Thanks to information from the public and extensive inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested later that week," Eastern District crime manager Detective Inspector Martin James said.

"He is due to reappear in the high court at Napier on a charge of muder and wilful damage on Friday, June 21."
