Five members and associates of the Head Hunters gang are facing methamphetamine charges after a police operation across Auckland and Northland yesterday morning.
Search warrants were carried out on Wednesday morning at seven addresses targeting the alleged supply of methamphetamine by the North Shore chapter of the gang, including its headquarters in Wairau Valley.
Detective Inspector Albie Alexander said investigators were supported by tactical staff.
"Five men were located across these addresses and were arrested without incident this morning.
"As a result of our investigation under Operation Salmon, we have charged these men with possession of methamphetamine for supply."
Several items of interest were seized across all seven addresses, including $80,000 in cash, firearm ammunition and cannabis.
Alexander said further arrests cannot be ruled out and that the public will see police carrying out continued disruption and enforcement action.
