Police are investigating after a body was reportedly discovered near Rotorua's lakefront this morning.
A spokesperson said police are in the vicinity of the Rotorua Events Centre on Hatupatu Dr after a report of a sudden death.
"Inquiries are underway to determine the circumstances of the death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time."
Fire and Emergency NZ confirmed to 1News they were assisting police.
