This week's Good Sorts is a Timaru man who is all about hitting the right notes for a cause close to his heart.
After playing rest homes and a six month residency outside New World Temuka, Jeff Domigan has found his musical home on a bit of concrete between Bunnings Timaru and a cafe.
While he plays for gold coins and the occasional bank notes, he said if people can get some enjoyment out of it, that was really good.
He often tops up his takings with his own money, and is “pretty sure” he has raised “just a hundred or so over the $10,000 mark.”
The money goes to the people who helped look after his late wife Susan before her death.
“Sue spent two or three weeks in the hospice, so I decided to give it to them,” he said.
