The sun may not be splitting the stones, but there's still plenty to keep us entertained over the summer in Dublin.
This weekend, there is an incredible cookbook club event happening at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Colombian celebrations will take place on Harcourt Street, and an art-filled block party is set to take over Charlemont Square.
1.Dublin Block Party
Running from Thursday, 25 - Sunday, 28 July, The Dublin Block Party will return for its second year, celebrating community through immersive art experiences. Irish artist Maser invites attendees to Charlemont Square to enjoy art exhibitions and live mural painting by Ireland's leading creatives, delve deeper into creative processes with the Creative Talk Series, and recharge with wellness offerings such as the Sunflower Sessions - an evening of yoga and live music fusions.
There will be a coffee truck onsite as well as food by Krewe, Hennessy cocktails* and a live DJ. If you want to bring the little ones along, there will be art engagements and painting walls designed especially for children. For more info, visit ateliernow.ie.
2. House of Padel
Late last week, Dublin’s first premium indoor Padel Club opened its doors, complete with Ireland’s first ever pickleball court, a health food bar, ice baths and more. Located in Dublin 24 just 10 minutes from Dublin's Bushy Park, it is set to be Dublin’s premium yet innovative new home for Padel (a hybrid of tennis and squash) enthusiasts.
Fees to book as you play start at €40 per hour for non peak hours, 7am to 3pm and €50 per hour from 4pm to 10.30pm seven days a week. You can book / enquire about membership through www.houseofpadel.com.
3. The Cookbook Club
The Cookbook Club is a great way to explore new cuisines, hear the stories behind publishing a cookbook, and to meet new people. Taking place on Sunday, 21 July, at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, this menu will be based on dishes from AGAK-AGAK by Sham Hanifa.
With tickets costing €90 – €99, guests can expect a mouth-watering menu of dishes that incorporate all the flavours of Chef Hanifa's diverse heritage, which includes Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Malay influences. They will also receive a signed copy of AGAK-AGAK to bring home with them to try out the recipes for themselves before anyone else.
4. Colombian Day
On Saturday, 20 July, Harcourt Bar & Garden will play host to the Colombian community and friends for a celebration of Colombian music, dance, food, arts, crafts, and culture from 2pm to 2:30am (children are welcome until 6pm). Marking Colombian Independence Day, the event will feature live music, salsa shows, Zumba workshops and much more. Wearing yellow, red and blue is encouraged!

5. Eatyard Wine & Cheese Festival

Running from Friday, 19 - Sun, 21 July, The Bernard Shaw will be hosting a wine and cheese festival chock full of activities. There will be wine and cheese Tastings, blind cheese tasting contests, a drag brunch, street food vendors, delicious hampers and more. 6. The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever
Love singing about Heathcliff? Want to pretend you're in some wiley, windy moors? Come gather in your finest Kate Bush garb for a group performance of the Wuthering Heights dance routine, as Dublin celebrates 'The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever' on Saturday, 20 July, at Fairview Park at 12pm.
The event is entirely organised and run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis, but there will be a €10 registration fee to cover insurance and small costs. Any money from registrations left over will be donated to Women's Aid.
