The Taoiseach Simon Harris says he has a "bone to pick" with Taylor Swift ahead of her Dublin concerts over her song lyrics about taking a pebble from a Wicklow beach.

In the song Sweet Nothings Taylor refers to "a pebble that we picked up last July... Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?"

Speaking in Brussels the Taoiseach said jokingly: "I have a bone to pick with Taylor Swift actually. We're delighted to have her here in Ireland but she did take a pebble from a beach in Greystones.

"She sings about it in Sweet Nothings, about Greystones - my home town.

"She does ponder in the song, does the pebble ever miss Wicklow, and sure everyone would miss Wicklow, wouldn't they?

"But she's very welcome back to county Wicklow at any time - I'm not sure whether she'll have time to visit this time. But she's very welcome. I'll be delighted to show her the location of many more pebbles that we have in the beautiful town of Greystones."
